British Steamship Management, the Manager of British Steamship P&I, is pleased to notice all our members and business partners that, since the date of this notice, BSM starts to write Charterers’ Liability insurance.

British Steamship provides Charterers’ Liability insurance to tailor the specific needs of all type of Charterers, cargo owners and traders. We cover the Member’s liability arising out of the chartered vessel. Our Charterers’ Liability insurance covers both the contractual and legal liabilities arising out of the chartering of a vessel.

British Steamship welcome any type of Charterers’ business, no matter what size. We can insure a chartered vessel of any type (cargo and non-cargo carrying), tramp chartering, liner/feeder business, any type of commodity and any trading area. We have no restrictions to age, size or type of a vessel. For clients who ship their own cargoes, cover can be extended to include Cargo Owners Legal Liability.

British Steamship offer limits up to USD500M.

In the case of British Steamship, this cover is provided under Class I of its Rules. Other insurance include FDD (Class II) and COLL (Class III), and extended cover like Charterers’ Bunkers, SOL, Deviation, Containers, can be provided as well.
